I've been with AT&T for a long time, in my mind since my very first cell phone before the smart phones were around or invented. Mine was a Cingular but AT&T bought Cingular so my bill started coming as AT&T. I still had the cost deal I had with Cingular. From my first iPhone I've had no trouble having them unlocked as soon as my contract was over. I sold the phones. I have my iPhone 5 unlocked that I keep and my iPhone 6+ which has an account.

Now that they've dropped their original "pay-as-you-go" plan, I hope they'll reduce monthly cost for service after the Next 18-month "you own it" period is over. I guess I'll find out when my 2-year contract is over in October, unless someone on list knows the details?

Well if I must I'll buy one from att/cricket and go from there as because at this point I don't want the current model lol

All that really matters is that it's the 2015 model and that I can use it in Latin America.
