Re: [iPad] Off topic iPhone question

Oh :(
boo hiss.
Well if I must I'll buy one from att/cricket and go from there as because at this point I don't want the current model lol

All that really matters is that it's the 2015 model and that I can use it in Latin America.

The unlocked phones have not been available at launch in the past, but are usually released about three months later.   Both models of the 6 were released on January 6, 2015.

I forgot to mention that if you want your new phone as soon as they are released, you can buy it through AT&T (maybe other carriers also work the same way) on their NEXT program & then pay it off when you want.  That will basically give you an unlocked phone without waiting for them to be released which has been about three months after the initial release if I remember correctly.

I think I would check with Apple to be sure you get the service you need as you travel.

I've never bought an unlocked straight from Apple iPhone. That's what I want to do this fall. Maybe my question is aimed at one of the couple or few employees in here. But. If I flop down my grand and get an iPhone straight from Apple will there be any limitations on where I can use it? And maybe I should just call apple. Sprint tells me that unless the phone says "sprint" on it I can't use it with them. I do not care to use it with sprint. But I do care that I can put an El Salvadorian or Honduran sim card in it when I get there for local service this winter. To complicate matters I think they are all prepaid. And again I'm happy to contact apple directly regarding this and even post the response here but I wanted to ask anyway.

Go. :)
