In my research for myself this is what I will do as this is what my vision is naturally. I would think it would work for you as it has with contacts. Since I have had so much trouble with the reverse- correcting for the different vision in my eyes with bifocals and prescription readers I personally would not go this route unless you had sucessfully adapted to contacts.
On the other hand I have two sisters that seem to be able to adapt what ever glasses or contacts they get.

Has anyone had experience with monovision, where the lens for one eye is for distance and the other is for close-up? I used contact lenses like that successfully for many years, until they were no longer able to correct my vision and I had to switch to glasses. I have severe astigmatism. I do have cataracts but my opth. does not feel they are ready to be done yet.
