Yes, I had contacts like that for years and it was very good. The only problem I had was when I was driving as I could not see a clear image in the left hand outside mirror.
When I first wore this setup I was thrilled at the beach. I could read and see the world at the same time. It was also good for my photography excursions.
I would still be wearing them today but had to give up contacts due to an injury that kept me from being able to have my hand touch my face for a number of years.

Has anyone had experience with monovision, where the lens for one eye is for distance and the other is for close-up? I used contact lenses like that successfully for many years, until they were no longer able to correct my vision and I had to switch to glasses. I have severe astigmatism. I do have cataracts but my opth. does not feel they are ready to be done yet.
