You might want to also give a listen to Rhapsody. It lets you play full albums by artists of your choice & also create radio stations that are then similar to Pandora & iTunes Radio. I don't know about their compression, but I think that they offer a free trial.

Spotify lets you listen to full albums of the artist I search for. It also lists what Spotify thinks are similar artists to the one I choose.
