Since I didn't know what IPX7 means (it can survive in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes) I did a search and came up with an informative FAQ on MacWorld-

I am interested in the Apple watch conversation on this list but I just can't join another list. I spend too much time on reading online as it is.

You can, for example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise, in the rain, and while washing your hands, but submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather bands are not water resistant.

It has almost no moving parts. I have seen no official statement about "shockproof".
