Most people would agree that an Atari was a computer -- very few people
I know consider their smartphone to be a computer and just as few people
think of their tablet as being a computer. When most people refer to
"computer" they're talking about notebooks or desktops which run OSx or
Windows or some flavor of Unix.
The technical definition of what a computer is just isn't the same as
the general public's concept of what a computer is.
Even you forgot to include that most people's cars are computers these days.
