Is there a way to turn off the gremlin in my iPad who thinks (s)he knows what I want to write, and how I want to spell better than I do?
I would rather that words will be spelled correctly, and quickly, even though I am a good enough speller. You do know that you just hit the "x" by the suggested word, if it's not what you want?

And many of us while typing, don't particularly want to move our hand from the keyboard to find that tiny little "x".
Some of us that spell well are happy with software calling typographical errors to our attention, but NOT correcting them.
And autocorrect doesn't pick up all those typos which are correctly spelled wrong words.
