I doubt apple changes things for the resin if to be different. The old mantra under jobs was to make things better. As in enhance. But beauty is in the eye if the beholder and what a design team thinks is better to them may be worse according to you.

Enhancing to me is positive, compensating negative. Changing things just to make them different isn't enhancing nor compensating. If a product is designed to make it easier for switchers, that seems to me the way to go.
