iOS7 was released in September 2013 so your book is probably referencing the previous operating system.

I found it, but the book did not mention 'Privacy'. The irony is that location services was turned on. I thought that I had seen that somewhere,   The book is from 2012. Maybe Apple changed it's location, OR maybe an error in the book. It is 'iPad for Seniors.
