I use Marvin app as a reader and would like to backup my files .ePub to my Mac. Also have .pdf files in IBooks that I would like to back up. I did backup my ipad using ITunes to the Mac, but… I have no idea where it went and I don't think it did the Marvin or Kindle apps. I am new to apple and transitioning from PC/android platform.
In the fall, when MacOS Yosemite and iOS 8 are released, this will be a feature of these OS's. Obviously, we don't yet know how all the mechanics of this will work, so I can't say whether your particular aspect of data transfer will be addressed.
