>Ive read that they need maintaining every week, rubbish.
Maybe not every week, and especially not now. Newcomers to a specific technology may dig for information and often get wrong information, wrong in the sense that it is no longer valid.
I was discussing I.T, with my sons father in law who insisted the I.T. people need to know how to program. I'm guessing that this may no longer be true. AND, programming in which language? Certainly not Machine or Assembly. Assy. or it's equivalent would take for ever to get anything done. I'm not a programmer but High level languages are probably what would be used, and still depend on the prejudices of the employer or supervisor.
