Maintaining computers makes me think of the techie stuff on NCIS. Time makes a big deal about defragmenting the hard drives. It's not a big deal, in fact I use a defrag program that includes the option to shut the computer down when defrag is finished. I actually defrag more than is necessary, but that is no big deal.
Another thing that people do in movies and TV shows that is laughable, banging on the monitor. That is sort of the tech equivalent of shooting the messenger [of bad ews].
