Very true.

It would be a very interesting sociological study to question people to
find out what their concept of "computer" is. Most people that I've
discussed computers and iPads and iPhones and Android devices with have
not considered their tablets and smartphones to be computers.

If you say "computer" to many people they get the image of a
notebook/laptop computer or a device that sits on a desk where a
keyboard and monitor are plugged into a box.

That's why stores such as Best Buy and Staples have large signs which
say "Computers" placed over displays of notebooks/laptops/desktops and
other signs which say "Tablets" and "Phones" over displays of those devices.

They know that the general public would be totally confused if there
were a single sign that said "Computers" over the displays of tablets,
smartphones, notebooks/laptops, desktops.

Heck, my new TV is a computer, but it was not on display in the
"Computers" section of the store, it was on display in the "Televisions"
section of the store.

Similarly my new car is a computer, but I didn't buy it at a "Computer
Store" I bought it at a car dealership.
