I would say the tablets and touchscreen phones and even ps4 and xbones are computers just as was my original Atari. In fact one of my favorite artists, al jourgenson, got his first album deal because a producer noticed he was programming music in his Atari.

Very true.

It would be a very interesting sociological study to question people to
find out what their concept of "computer" is. Most people that I've
discussed computers and iPads and iPhones and Android devices with have
not considered their tablets and smartphones to be computers
