My update took no more than 30 minutes over WiFi for my iPad & iPhone.  I do have a speedy internet service.

I tried over the air update and it's still going after an hour. How long has it taken people? I plugged into power and it's over wifi. I had to leave it at home for the first time ever... Suffering from withdrawal effects... :-(
