Bought a new iPhone.
Intuitive.

"I think it's wrong…" despite the obvious fact that millions are very happy with the size.

> And the iPhone needs to be re-thought. It's the right size for portability but wrong for the fingers and eyes.

There are a LOT of things, and people, that it IS the right size for.
And there are larger size products from Apple for uses that need larger sizes.

> Unfortunately, all we hear from Apple is more ways to milk their cash cows. They ought at least to be talking out of the box.

No sense of history.
Apple has NEVER "talked out of the box" until the point at which they were ready to announce and release the revolutionary product.

Why change now?
Oh, right. Because you think they should.

The only apps I have figured out are:
Camera and Photo booth, maps, mail, and Settings, to some extent.

I open calendar expecting to be able to enter information but keyboard doesn't open nor is there an icon to click to open it. Same thing wit reminders.

I'd like to get rid of some app icons from the home page, I don't expect to ever use Music or Video. There's an item called utilities and it has clock on it.
Why can't I get a simple, central time click instead of that world clock? I don't care what time it is in Timbuktu.

One reason I forget some of the things I HAVE learned is that I just get tired of looking and not being able to do anything with the very expensive device that I can't really use,

No, I have no idea.  That's Apple's job.  Unfortunately, all we hear from Apple is more ways to milk their cash cows.  They ought at least to be talking out of the box.

Odd

Its like praising the person who invented the car, then criticising that same person as we still have just cars, that have just evolved.

I dare anyone to name a new and innovative product in the smart devices category, its all been done. Phones have been done, tablets, smart watches, all been done.

Its now about innovating these devices to be more useful. Apples foray into the HomeKit is one innovation, centralising the many many protocols that already exist into one seamless product/service to use them all. Not a new product or service, juts a better means to implement it

If this is what's bothering you tap on the Settings icon, then General, go to Date and Time. Change it there.

I wouldn't try to delete anything until you learn how to get around a little better.    Can you google the manual and read it on the iPad.   So easy to read on iPad.

On the clock.  When I got my iPad, it had California time.    I set it to my time zone and I like the clock now.

Under settings, go to clock and see what options you have for the clock.

When you get used to the IPad, you will love it.
