Re: [iPad] Surface Pros are starting to sell

I have an ugly information rich website that made me a ton of money in the 90s that I stopped maintaining in 2002 and you could not resist a cheap shot about it. It did attract 24,000 unique visitors a day and 160,000 page views in 90s and do over 100k in advertising each year so the lessons were liked,  as ugly as they were.

It was the #1 popular way to learn ASP from 96-2002 and I am proud of all the beginner code there designed to get people started.  When my new sites launch in 2014  they will be more attractive (although content first looks second will always be the mantra) and focus on higher end programming and several other topics (Chess variants,  Science Fiction,  Cloud computing,  Psychology,  Glorantha,  MindMaps,  Tablets and Phablets,  FTF Gaming)  and I am sure you,  because you dislike the way I present my opinions will take a vague cheap shot like you did now. But they will be well trafficked for their unique info because the articles fill niches where people need more info.

I stand by snarky and rude for your comment. Learn some manners when dealing on a group, or just expect to be called out as rude when you say something snarky to me or about me. Others may let you get away with it but I will always draw attention.

No, snarky and rude would've said something about your website. I have a problem when someone takes a simple sentence and rewords it to fit their means. As it is, I like how Carl's comment has now turned into a computer that would run both OS X and iOS.

I didn't say anything about the idea not being profitable, I only said that maybe Apple didn't like the additional hardware costs. I leave the dreaming up costs of a special assembly line for these screens to Apple. And we're talking about suppliers needed for the biggest touchscreens they would've put on any device.

Lower profit margins on products has caused Apple stock price to drop, which just causes you to create more threads about Apple's downfall. (e.g., the thread we're in right now)

Yeah when I state an opinion its ok to be snarky, Ted. Because its the Internet, so rudeness is ok APPARENTLY. But normally in the 'real world' outside the Internet calling someone a 'business expert' with a 'answer for everything' is impolite, and only a person with bad manners would do so. Wake up on wrong side of bed?

And if my opinion is it could be profitable, and yours is it could not be profitable, then obviously I have the 'answer for everything'.

My opinion could be wrong or right, but if I participate in a thread I will express my opinion.

If it means you call me a 'business expert' who has a 'answer for everything' it just reminds me you can be another rude person on the Internet who hates it when someone states a strong opinion that opposes yours. Whichever of us turns out to be right.

BTW Apple has not sold anything at a loss yet. If they plan such a product it would be with a healthy profit margin. And if touch screens killed a profit margin phones would not be feasible at their under $700 price point. Nor would under $1,000 Touch Screen convertibles which there are many. But don't let facts about how much % a touch screen adds to price of regular screen affect your ideas. Keep saying no profitable touch screen is feasible and if someone says it can call them a 'business expert' with a 'answer for everything' and wonder why people think you are just another snarky rude internet list participant. Even though to people with any manners it is obvious such remarks are rude :D

It would be all profit. They just add the touch costs + margin and add the margin for mods to OSX to run iOS apps natively or thorugh thin or thick VM. Make em expensive at first and if people like it MFRing costs come down.

My question is why hasn't Apple introduced a touch screen Mac? Seeing as they revolutionized touch over the last few years, I am horrified that they have not produced a touch screen Mac or iMac. Thoughts?
