Peop,e are moderated til they post a sane post or two. Then moderation is removed. None of the mods wants the full time approval job. I know I sure don't.

On the group I co-moderate, no one can post anything (messages, files, dates, etc.) without being hand approved. Every other Yahoo group I belong to that still has open calendar access is plagued by even worse stuff than this. Spammers are like water, the will find a crack to seep through.

This is SPAM. Abusing the calendar is a very common occurrence in many Yahoo Groups, anything placed in the calendar will automatically be mailed to every member when the "alarm" goes off. My guess is that this number probably connects to a "questionable" business. The moderator(s) need to turn off calendar access for all members to avoid this nuisance…
