Re: [iPad] VERY OT

We're still alive and kicking. The detox is ongoing. Sometimes I think we've made amazing headway and sometimes I truly believe we haven't even gone forward one inch.
Soboxone (sp) and Ambien have been what the professionals are substituting for the methadone so far.

Methadone is hard core. The detox is worse off it than off opiates (painkillers). The safest way is a medical detox. They'll wean her off cautiously. It can be done cold turkey but its possible seizures could result in some cases. Otherwise doing it along just ramp down the dosage over the course of a frw days ignoring the fact that the unfortunate addict may plead for more. Librium is the sedative or klonapin that I have seen used to ease this transition.

.  The high BP meds may still be needed.

After detox there are many options for a successfully recovery. A support network is key. Some prefer solutions such as narcotics anonymous. Some prefer faith based support. IMO healthy eating and living is key.

I've helped others. And I've been there. This is tough. She needs family. My thoughts are with you.

I went to Reno this weekend for my great granddaughters 1st birthday. My daughter was a holy mess. She has fibromyalgia and has been on
medication for it and high blood pressure and arthritis and I don't know what else. What I found out yesterday is that she used to also be on muscle relaxers and pain killers and then wanted off so they gave her methadone and then just never weaned her from that, and now she's been on methadone for years. She decided she needs to be off everything and is sicker than a dig. I'm going back to pick her up next Saturday and move her here with me and try to take care of her. I have no idea what to expect or what to do, guess I'll make many Google searches and some phone calls this week. I don't think she should quit taking her blood pressure medicine...oh well we'll figure it out. I have this week to get our spare bedroom turned from a craft room into a bedroom, I have to actually go find a twin bed, and stuff. That will all work out what I'm most concerned about is not knowing what to expect or how to take care of her the RIGHT way. We don't have money to pay for her to be in a facility like "Betty Ford".. so anyway.. if you've had experience with any of this feel free to give advice. Otherwise, please just be patient with me if I come to you crying about something that has nothing to do with my iPad.
