Ted, I don't quite understand what you are saying, below. Ted has been looking for an app that will "Lock" other selected apps, thereby preventing unauthorized access to those apps. The only apps I can find on the App Store are for locking pictures and data only. I did find app locking programs for jail broken iPads, but none for unjailbroken ones.

i experimented a lot with apps and once launched they don't really need to be locked. they function to launch new applications almost like application software.

Drat! I had hoped that would work. … just went back and searched some more. Yes, it appears there is nothing that will actually lock an app…. at least not yet. Sorry to have misled you. I will look some more but I would suspect if it were possible, it would already have been done. Likely that Apple does not want this feature on their store. It might be interesting to see if there is such an app for a Jail Broken iPAd.

I looked, but didn't see any apps that password locked games in a folder. Most of them looked like they were for photos and files.

I thought I posted a solution to this issue a day or two ago. Didn't anyone try it?

No, there isn't a password protected folder. You can take a look at the Settings app and see if enabling Restrictions would work for you.
