To be more precise, in what way do you not feel the Trent case is 'protective'? Details about what you'd like to see in your next case is helpful.
I liked the look of the Brookstone Keyboard case, but its' corners were somewhat sharp and uncomfortable when carrying it generally. I do not use the BT keyboard as much as I thought I would, but wound up really liking a basic smart cover and back snap case for slimness, or the JOBY Ori-iPad 2 for everyday wear, with the apple BT Keyboard in the 'Origami' keyboard holder by INCASE. I get the full - sized keys and when I'm not carrying the keyboard, a cool case for the iPad itself.
From what I understand, the second gen ZAGG case also provides protection on the back of the iPad.
I have seen the Kensington cases in the wild, and they do appear to be pretty decent. Amazon DOES offer better prices than this $99 constant. If your kids are not using the keyboard and your use of it is sporadic, perhaps the Otterbox (Again, half-price on Amazon) with a separate keyboard may be the best bet.

We purchased a New Trent model and have had nothing but problems with it and are looking for a replacement and can't find anything that provides adequate protection, a decent keyboard and good reviews. We have 3 young kids that use the ipad and so we are looking for more coverage than a leather cover. Thanks!
