One topic that needs to be stressed is what exactly "sync" means. I have read so many Users that have lost all their contacts, or all their music right after "syncing". The problem arises when they have all their contacts or music on their handheld device, and want to "sync" it to their iMac or Laptop. What actually happens in that case is that the information on their handhelds is wiped clean.
People think "sync" means "merge"...and therein lies the problem that causes them to lose all their data.
