[iPad] Question on Microsoft to Ipad compatibility

Hi,

I'm a new member and don't yet have an ipad, but am almost ready for a new ipad2. I have a couple questions on compatibility and such so need someone that knows the ins and outs of both MS and Apple software.

I have seen the videos on Apple's site about the Numbers program. I have used MS Excel for many years and in 2007 MS released a large overhaul of the whole Office software and added a host of nice features.
I have a large and complicated Excel spreadsheet calculator that gets frequently at times.
I would like to be able to use this spreadsheet on the ipad2. Perhaps even save it or save and send calculations by email. However, the new conditional formatting features of Excel 2007+ need to be available on the ipad to have full functionality of the spreadsheet.

Does anyone know if the Numbers program supports the newer MS Office 2007+ features and format and have full functionality of the features? If Numbers will not do it, is there another program that will run on the ipad to do this?

Please don't turn this into a MS vs Apple debate. That is not part of my question. I just want to know if this is something that I can do on the ipad and if so, how?

Thanks for your suggestions!
