Where are you trying to copy from, because I've had a lot harder time copying from a web page in Safari than text in the Mail app?

I have better luck when I select multiple paragraphs on a web page and copy/paste those into a new dummy email. From there I'm able to select what I'm trying to much easier.

Also, I use a Kensington keyboard case, so I can use a combination of shift and arrow keys to help select text to copy/paste.
