[iPad] “ultra tablets”

First bit of an article from the WSJ.  The rest is behind a paywall, but this gives you what I suppose is the main idea.

The conventional wisdom about tablet computers—that as a category, they're no longer all that compelling, and might even be dying out—is wrong.

It isn't that this analysis is irrational, because it comes straight from the available empirical data. It's just that it ignores important trends that have implications for much of personal computing. Taken together, they add up to this: As notebook computers become thinner and lighter and add touch interfaces, they will, I predict, increasingly come with keyboards that are detachable.

That is, whatever software and hardware is under the hood, most of the notebooks that are sold today will eventually be replaced by tablets, with optional keyboards. One name for these devices is "ultra tablets," and I think it fits.
