Re: [iPad] 8.4

On your Mac?  I can't see a way to do that on the iPad.

I can "follow" some, but not all, artists.  No idea what that accomplishes.

Re: [iPad] What's new in iOS 8.4

Welcome.  But not much there.  I guess 8.4 was mainly to get Music started.  Nine's evidently the big one, come autumn.

I've been playing with Music.  I can start "stations" centered around on artists, but I don't see that it's possible to save them.  And if a cut comes up that I want to delete, mark negative, or just bypass, it's not clear that's possible.  So there may be major limitations to tailoring what you want to hear.

One thing that this is showing me is that there are an enormous number of "artists" out there.  How can they all expect to make a living?  Do they expect to make money, or is every day just amateur night for most of these people?

Kris, for discovering new stuff, I'm happy with RadioTunes.  And it's two dollars cheaper than Music.  Lots of stuff in "genres" I like - New Age, solo piano, piano trios, relaxation, classical, and five or eight more.

But I'd love to find a way to make Music work for me.  Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I'll be honest. I've already discovered an album that's coming out that I'll want. Not to say that I wouldn't have otherwise discovered it but I discovered it via apple music.

Three months to go.  I'm very willing to learn, but at the moment I'm stymied.

Re: [iPad] 8.4

And as long as you pay the ten bucks a month. So therefor as a music discover app so that I can find stuff and use the aged iTunes to buy the tracks it seems like a big chunk. But then again. My ancient model is that I like to buy once and play forever. I think the quicker to evolve are okay with never owning and paying to rent fur ever. I'll give it the three months though.

I haven't noticed any changes besides Apple Music, but I've been busy with work so haven't yet spent much time messing with my devices after the install.  For the what it's worth department, it won't use your cellular data to play rented music if you download it first.

Yup. Went okay. On the iPad had to remove some movies first. But it installed without a hitch.

Seems a wee bit faster on my iPhone 5.

Signed up for apple music. Declined the paid version after the free trial. For the amount of time I spend listening to music it's $1 an hour. And I have some thoughts

I spent 30+ years collecting music. In the early 00s I digitized all of it. I have huge tubs of CDs. I own music. I'm young 40ish guy. For the 20ish guy they don't own music. Maybe a couple albums. No selection. They've grown up with ad supported steaming and napster and just don't care to nor have ever owned music. For them. They don't see the value in renting TV. Ala cable. But they do she value in renting music. My generation is just different. Playing rented music costs me extra gb of cellular costs.

Anyway. I like the way the new music app is structured.

I don't see any other changes. Do you?
