On my iPhone 5.
I've done a few complete wipes and rebuilt the data and still have battery drain. Big time. Okay. So I'm going to assume it's not the operating system and replace the battery. If the issue persists then it's either another bad battery, or software unless it's in the charging mechanism  
Thoughts?

Take it to an Apple store and tell them it's only a little over 2 years old, but the battery seems to be failing early. They will check the battery and if it is failing, you have a case for having them replace it for you.
