Not much of an issue. My daughters have a case that has a magnet on the back inside of the case, so they can use the phone in a case, then place it in the folio case as well, very cool. I googled magnets and they can upset some obscure function (cannot recall what it was, stylus maybe). Most folio cases have a magnet clip, and the iPad includes capability for a magnet to trigger sleep. So, all in all, they seem shielded enough

Wondering how vigilant I have to be when it comes to keeping my iPad well away from any magnets. I keep my iPad in a nice leather-type flip-over cover, but when I take it to and from work I have it in my bag in which I also have a little torch which has a small magnet on putting on any magnetic surface.
Thanks,
Janet.
Thanks,
Janet.
