I've seen my Air 2 battery dip substantially after maybe five hours of constant use, but I don't pay much attention to what's draining it, and I don't want to have to. Nor, I imagine, do most users. The battery should last a long time, period - no babying required. This is a consumer product, not a hobbyist toy.
The battery life on my iPad Air 2 is excellent. I charge it to 100% each morning, use it extensively through the day & rarely see a drop below 50% by the end of a long day which usually includes watching a couple of hours of streaming video. Here are some tips on improving battery life:
