I enjoy several games from Big Fish. Nutcracker HD, Christmas Carol, Titanic 2. They are not hard games, but they keep you involved and the graphics are very nice. They are a good way to lose yourself for a while. You have to run around, find things and piece together clues. If you get stuck there are hints built into the game.

I love Monument Valley too and another beautiful game is Tengami which, as the name suggests, is related to origami. The scenery is folded to reveal more and to progress. I also enjoy The Room but, as stated, it is more puzzle than game. There are lots of Big Fish Games offerings, which include mysteries and hidden object games; you can join their club but this has a subscription and I haven't joined, although I do buy occasionally, but it is worth investigating. If you are a games addict and like them in bulk, I recommend subscribing to AppGratis which sends a daily email describing games for iPhone and iPad, either free or very much reduced. I expect there are other similar offerings.
