Re: [iPad] Apple TV and Netflix

I hesitate to say anything since I've not been following this.

There are always so many possible points of failure, but having both BR player and ATV flaking out seems to narrow it to the input stream.  Are you wireless or wired?  Have you rebooted the router?  If you're wireless, how far and how many walls away is the transmitter?  Have the cable people done diagnostics on the router?  How old is the router?  Possible line problems?  Cable company can do a lot remotely.

Nine months is intolerable.  I'd do my best to get the cable people to do a thorough check on their side.  If an intelligent-sounding (very important qualifier) cable tech says they've eliminated all possible problems, I think I might borrow another TV and see if the problem persists.  If it does, you're back to the cable company.

Thanks for the suggestions Charles......

The ATV is over a year old so Apple won't replace it and I
really can't afford to buy a new one........my husband is
in a care facility so my finances are very restricted
these days......

I only have one TV so I cannot try it on a different
set........

This is also an issue on the Blu Ray player so it is more
than an ATV problem........

I have switched out the cables into all three different
HDMI ports to no avail. And the TV is way out of
warranty.......and there has never been an issue with the
sound on the TV except when using one of the two devices
so I doubt it is the TV itself.

I thought it was the cable speed so I did upgrade to a
higher speed but it did not change anything.

The last two days I have also had an issue connecting to
either Netflix or Hulu on the Blu Ray player.......it says
that it cannot connect with the network, but my laptop and
iPad both connect to the network just fine.......

I have been having this issue for the last 9 months or
so........

Thanks again for the suggestions.......
