Yes. Put them in a folder. But your browser history won't go there that I know of with an AppleScript.

Open browser is, yes, the dock is sorta like the taskbar icons I can add. Can you rightclick the Dock icon to get a list of websites you added as so you can go direct to them without opening Safari. All semantics I guess, different ways to do things, I just find the pinned URLs so quick and easy.
