Neither can I on my iPhone 5, iOS6.02. I used to, on my 4S a year ago. I connect, but Limited Access, i.e. on the home network but not the interweb
I will check now as my daughters 3GS cannot connect to my wifi router on certain settings, either N only or 40Mhz bandwidth. Maybe the iPhone 5 is not handling a setting.

What I have a hard time imagining is that this isn't a common problem. I have spoken with Apple & my home wireless provider and neither has an answer for this problem. I would think that more people who use a windows laptop haven't incurred this problem. There must be some configuration problem between my laptop & iPhone, that I can't figure out in order to get connected.

Yikes.
Your windows laptop can connect to wifi not not the wifi put out by your iPhone?
If the iPhone 5 802.11n only and your laptop lesser than???????

The hotspot is active as I was able to connect my iPad with any problem. It is trying to connect my Windows XP laptop that I am having difficulty. It finds my hotspot in the wireless list, but when I connect, it acquires network address but it doesn't show "connected", it shows automatic and it won't load any page. When I check wireless connection on my laptop it is shown as not connected. But if I switch to my home wireless network, it connects without a problem. There must be a setting or configuration that needs to be changed or modified. Any ideas?
