Re: [iPad] Cancelling auto-renew early with Verizon can't be done according to one rep

You were paying $40 per month because that's what new customers pay for a tablet-only Share Everything plan. Of course you had a 4GB plan while the rest of us on Verizon are only getting 2GB for $30.

If anyone is looking for a lower monthly cost and doesn't care about the amount of plan data, they should be buying their iPad from Apple and going prepaid. If you call up Verizon for assistance, they'll be happy to charge you an activation fee and put you on a postpaid plan.

At this point I am so confused but I know the plan I thought would cost $30 ended up being $80, including taxes. There was a $30 activation fee and a $40 fee for 4G lite, supposedly because 3G was no longer available. But... several times I was on 3G, not 4G on my iPad. This entire experience has left me with a very bad taste and disappointment with Verizon.

I had a data connection until today when it was terminated at the VZ store. It was to expire on 10-4 but I wanted to be sure it would not renew, considering the trouble I had.

I didn't mean to infer you couldn't use the data.  But if you don't use it during that billing cycle it is lost.  I also think (because ED said so) there is no activation fee for pre-pay.  I paid it for my and my wife's new iPad for post-pay.  Don''t know about the activation fee (if any) for pre-pay for the new iPad.  Gheeze.  They should have called it iPad3.  LOL.
