Apple, Sony/ATV in rate standoff on streaming service

Apple Inc. is having problems in negotiating rates with Sony/ATV to get the company's music into Apple's web radio service.
According to the New York Times, Cupertino-based Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) negotiations have stalled over price. Sony/ATV owns the "world's largest music publishing catalog with over 2 million songs," according to the report.
These kinds of negotiations are new in the music industry - previously rights deals were made with performing rights organizations Ascap and BMI, according to the report.
