but the cable companies wouldn't allow that to happen -- they want to
make $Xmillion in profit, they need to take in $Xmillion in total
income, and if they go to the a la carte method of subscription, the
channels you want won't be $2.50 a channel. It'll be more like $10 a
channel, with a monthly minimum of $X regardless of whether you get one
or a hundred channels.
They're going to make their money one way or another and it's not going
to be by selling individual channels for $2.50.
