Sadly, not all apps backup their data/settings to SD. I've found a few. If I have to do a hard reset on my phone today, I'll lose some data.
Its not a priority for most Android users. They can start their Angry Birds from scratch. /wink
Also, Android has a real battle on their hands with Google and Amazon fighting over app purchases.

Backs up to google and/or sd card... Not the best solution i agree, but when I Purchased a new phone due to a horrible break, I lost no app data.

Sadly, call blocking is one of those features that I don't think you can even get a majority of people to clamor for. I have an Android phone and I've never used a call blocker, so I wouldn't look for one on the iPhone.
You think the blocked calling feature is bad, try losing all your app data because Android doesn't have a simple backup feature.

Agreed Apple is being very anti-customer to omit this feature and alienate some real fans and give some free compelling reasons to use competition by not just adding this natively.
if they did it natively they would be ahead of Android and security would not be an issue because iOS could do it, but not apps.
Yep its a F&^%up among a sea of brilliant things in iPhone. You are justified in being annoyed and not wanting to have an iPhone till they care about your legit need.

Bottom line, too much work when i can simply just block on my phone. When the iphone becomes just as simple, i will be back.

Google Voice can forward to iPhone so can be used to add features to iPhone that it normally does not have.Calls => Google Voice => use cool features to block => other calls head straight to iPhoneYou could even transfer iPhone number to Google voice and then have new iPhone number so all people with your current iPhone number would get a pass through GV for many nifty features as it rang on your new iPhone #On Sun, May 27, 2012 at 11:59 AM, Twenty pearls <akaivyleaf@yahoo.com> wrote:You miss the point of the thread I see. The question is about the disadvantage I see with the iPhone, that being blocking numbers FROM THE PHONE. Your solution of Google voice still points people away from the iPhone, thus I guess you agree with my defined disadvantage of the iPhone. Thanks for confirming that the iPhone can't do this alone. The Android can :)Technically its not the Android OS its the fact that all the carriers added call Blocking to their Dialing UIs so most people with Android phones assume the phone can do it natively but the carriers added that feature. Apple iOS is tighter and more secure about such low level features for better or worse so a App can't add that to the UI. Less chances to hack iOS, less power/convenience for apps at times. After all a rogue Android app or a rogue iOS app running on a jailbroken phone could block calls you care about too. Security design is always trade offs.
