Re: [iPad] Making an Audiobook -Need Help

After you import the CD into iTunes you'll need to select all the tracks &
under Get Info select Options -- Media Kind -- audiobook. That will put them
all into the 'books' section of iTunes. I also filled out any missing info
about author or title while I was at the mass-changing, & making sure the
'album' listed which disk it was.

I didn't do anything to put the tracks 'together' but did put everything in
a playlist (checking that everything is in correct order) for syncing. I
didn't do anything else special but doing this did result in the
bookmark/resume play within each track as well as the 30-second rewind being
available. I have one set that's over 200 tracks but it went just fine for
listening to.

However, if I played something else in between (e.g. from a different
playlist) I would have to remember where-I-was in the other list, though the
spot within a track/where to resume would be remembered.

Subject: [iPad] Making an Audiobook -Need Help

Am having some problems with audiobooks. Usually we download books from
the library using Overdrive program and that works great. We can put the
book on the iPod, iPhone, iPad and even the Zune.
But sometimes we buy a book on CD or checkout from library on CD and
that becomes a mess.
Copying the CD into iTunes is fine, just like a music CD, but then there
is a bazillion files for the book in Music. Can make a separate Playlist
and then load that on to the iDevices, but that doesn't take advantage
of the bookmark or resume features and there are still a million files
to get lost in, some just seconds long. Have done some searching for
solutions online but so far not working well.

Does anyone have a good source for steps to do this right? -For
converting the million files into one or a few larger files and making
that into an iTunes usable audiobook file?

Thanks
