I don't know how common my situation is, but of all the many functions an iPhone can perform, the LEAST-used one is talking to other people by voice.
Most identified limitations of the iPhone as a voice telephone are therefore simply irrelevant to me. I know some others have also said this, but I don't know how wide-spread it is.
