[iPad] Missing files when restoring

 

I have a number of music notation files in an app called ForScore. I would like these files to be on two iPads, gen 1 and g 3. At the Apple store I was told to make the g3 my master iPad, back it up and then restore the g 1 from my backup. The newer files from the g3 did not transfer. Any ideas?
