Are you sure this change is for existing customers? I know when they changed the 3G plan from unlimited, I was grandfathered into the unlimited. I never bought the 4G hotspot because we still don't have 4G here in Detroit. I have several devices and they were still unlimited as of the last billing, but I look into it. Two of the devices are 4G ready but only used for 3G unless they travel into a 4G Zone.
My understanding was that nobody was exempt, but the focus seemed to be on unlimited 4G. It would be worth a call to customer support to double check, so you don't end up with a surprise bill. :)
As a follow-up, I cancelled with no ETF, but Sprint charged me an ETF anyway, so I had to call back a second time to have that credited back. :/
