| In that bottom lineup, tap and hold one of the icons. When it and the others start to jiggle, you will see that each one has a little red circle with a minus sign in it on the upper left of the icon. To close all of these apps, just tap the red circle and, bingo, the app disappears from the line-up (meaning it is now closed, NOT removed or deleted in any way, just no longer running in the background).
