Yeah, 256-tops next iteration, probably.  I'm perfectly happy with 128, but if I wanted to keep good-sounding music there, 256 would be far too little.  My music server - a MacBook Air - is 256, and it ran out of space long ago.

I'd buy a 256 iPod touch and then only get a 64gb iPhone. They'd sell me two. Instead of one 128gb iPhone as I'm looking at now. But I'm in the minority. 

I think iPads should be 64, 128 and 256. iPhones 32, 64, 128. 

But what I think doesn't matter.

Unfortunately what lit a fire under me and I have to get over it was the way they just dropped the iPod classic, which for the money held one heck of a lot of music, and had nothing of the size to replace it.
