I know nothing about Spotify, but I'm unhappy with the incompleteness and sound quality of Tidal's catalog.

Spotify – and Beats, Pandora, etc. – is the modern equivalent of listening to various radio stations in my youth.

The MP3/AAC collection on an iPod or iPhone is the modern equivalent of the records and tapes of my youth.

We used to use BOTH: listen to our records, our tapes, and turn the radio on as well.
