Re: [iPad] Latest iPhone update problem.

Maybe you could restore the phone & set it up again from a backup of your iPad?

I don't know.  Is there a way to sign out of iTunes and then log back in?  Apple has all your apps under purchased apps so you should be okay there.  Your contacts will be on iCloud only if you use iCloud.  If not then copy them from your iPad.  Sounds like you'll be up late tonight.

My iPad 2 works perfectly well and does everything that I want or need to do nicely.  What can you do that I can't do?

That's odd marketing.  The 2 is ancient - probably crawls through iOS7.  $400 is far too much to spent for obsolete technology.  I can imagine the Apple store salespeople are embarrassed to have to steer people away from it.

Where are you seeing Apple selling the iPad 2 other than refurbished?

In their online store?

In their online store today there are no iPad 2 16Gb available, but the 32Gb wifi only version is $399.

Re: [iPad] iPad and Not-Mac?

So you only sync to the cloud? I thought pressing sync or backup put everything in the cloud but not on your computer.

Re: [iPad] RE: iPad and Not-Mac?

For me, referring to non-Apple as a PC goes back to the early 80's. Every computer person I knew, knew what I was talking about when I said I had a PC. That was before Windows, I believe. Even after Windows came out we called them PC's.

Have not even mentioned $.

[iPad] new Retina iPad Mini

I hadn't seen it mentioned before so I was surprised when looking at the new retina ipad mini on the apple store to see it goes up to 128 GB of storage. Not too long ago that would have been a lot for a desktop.
