I don't know. Is there a way to sign out of iTunes and then log back in? Apple has all your apps under purchased apps so you should be okay there. Your contacts will be on iCloud only if you use iCloud. If not then copy them from your iPad. Sounds like you'll be up late tonight.PeteI tried that…in fact, it asked me to connect to itunes after the update. I bought a new computer and I don't think I backed up my phone to the new PC before the update so I guess I will have to reenter all of my contact information, right? What an idiot I am!! Geez! In iTunes my phone name was Sherry and now it says "valued customer". How do I get it to recognize my name again? I feel so dumb!

Help! I installed the latest update on my iPhone 4 and it wiped out all of my apps! How do I get them back? And how do I get my contacts and imessages back too? I wasn't prepared for this. I updated my iPad and it went fine, with no issues so I just assumed it would go well for my phone too.

That's odd marketing. The 2 is ancient - probably crawls through iOS7. $400 is far too much to spent for obsolete technology. I can imagine the Apple store salespeople are embarrassed to have to steer people away from it.Where are you seeing Apple selling the iPad 2 other than refurbished? In their online store? In their online store today there are no iPad 2 16Gb available, but the 32Gb wifi only version is $399.<http://store.apple.com/us/buy-ipad/ipad2><Screen Shot 2013-10-30 at 6.14.14 PM.png>

Also, you no longer need to connect an ipad to anything. My ipad has NEVER been connected to my Mac. I realize I am strange!

There must be web pages about how to use a not-Mac computer with an iPad. Recommendations please?

So what do you have? A Mac or a PC?PeteSematics and I don't want to start a Mac vs. PC war of words....
*PC" is NOT a MS machine....OS is MS but H/W can be from a wide variety of places, including home built to get almost any desired combination of content; along with probable risks for problems if not done carefully.
Have not even mentioned $.
