How full was it? Out of 64GB on my iPad, with only 57.x available for
my apps and data, I have a little under 6GB still available, so I have
about 51GB of apps and data.

If you have a lot less, I would expect the upgrade to take a lot less time.

And it may well be a Mac/Windows thing also.
