Re: [iPad] Re: Viewing Powerpoint on IPad

It's true!  If you have Windows (and probably Macs and surely Linux) you can get Open Office free and see and edit anything you like.

The Ipad is a very impressive but very closed system.  I just got one.  I've had an Itouch for almost a year and I've enjoyed it and now I'm getting to know the Ipad.  I love it but I hate it, too.

I also just got a Samsung Galaxy Tab with Android 2.2 and even though it's far less sophisticated as the Ipad I'm surprised at how much more it can do.

I plan to keep them both.  They both have their good points and their advantages and their uses for me.  But I'll grumble a lot more about the Ipad.  It could have been the only device I wanted.

Wow! Microsoft's OSes allow you to open Powerpoint presentations
withOUT Powerpoint installed??? That is NEW!!! Rather impressive.
You don't have to pay over a hundred dollars for a suite that includes
Powerpoint to view its files!!
