I set mine to sync manually.  Sync means "Steve Jobs decides what you need and when" and, while I have much respect for Mr. Jobs, he don't get to do that!

Itunes gets in the way of anything like true drag and drop but you can sort of control what's on what device yourself if you work at it.

I "think" i just did a sync from my ipad to my computer. When I look at
the apps listed under ipad apps on my computer I do not see some of the
apps that are on my ipad. For instance I just downloaded the "Bing" app
yesterday but after syncing today I do not see it listed on my pc.

I am still lost on this syncing thing, it gives me a syncing feeling!
