Save your money and either use Boot Camp or VirtualBox. Both are free and
since you are looking at Parallels I guess you are not really interested in
using Boot Camp. VirtualBox is a free multi-platform open source
virtualization application that was recently owned by Sun and now is part of
Oracle. It is constantly being improved upon and works real well.

I started out with Parallels but got tried of paying for the constant
upgrades. It really should be at version 1.5 instead of 5.0. I use
VirtualBox on a 15" MacBook Pro with 4 GB of RAM and usually run Windows 7
with it, but I have run various linux distros, too.
